Speak Your Mind is a complete General English course that is effective and relevant from beginner level to advanced level.
The Speak Your Mind programme is made up of 17 Units: every Unit is sub-divided into 10 Lessons.

On great advantage of Speak Your Mind is that the design and structure of the programme allow us to define levels with far greater accuracy that the conventional categories, ‘elementary’, ‘intermediate’ or ‘advanced’. With us students can be sure to study at their most appropriate level and at the most appropriate speed.

It’s no big secret that some people learn faster than others. What matters most is that each individual can go at the pace that suits them best. While learning speeds can differ, we know that on average it takes students between twenty-five and thirty-five 50-minute lessons to complete each Unit.

Reliability – international certification

“When assessing levels of language competence, the traditional terms –‘survival’, ‘fluent’ or ‘school English’ have little objective value. Internationally recognised standards in language skills can set reliable independent benchmarks.
These benchmarks establish levels of ‘linguistic competence’ rather than ‘academic knowledge’, in other words ‘what you can do’ in another language – not just ‘what you know’ – in real-life situations: tourism, work, social relationships, study.”

What level do you need ?

Speak Your Mind conforms to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) which classifies
linguistic ability in 6 different levels from in three broad divisions, A1-C2 :

A: Basic User
A1 Breakthrough or beginner
A2 Waystage or elementary

B: Independent User
B1 Threshold or intermediate
B2 Vantage or upper intermediate

C: Proficient User
C1 Effective Operational Proficiency or advanced
C2 Mastery or proficiency

How much time do I need to learn?

The answer is “it depends”. There are a lot of factors that can have an effect, the natural aptitude of each individual towards learning, age, motivation, education, and the opportunities available to use the language outside the classroom. However the following figures are used as a general guide (CEF and Cambridge ESOL)

*Thanks to the organisation of courses and the unique characteristics of the Speak Your Mind method, we can achieve a significant reduction in average learning times.
